Creating a small but dedicated rescue for sphynx cats has been something I have wanted to do for a long time, and amongst the chaos of 2020 I finally had the time to get everything started officially.

We are lucky to have a wonderful sphynx community here in Australia, and lots of very dedicated breeders who are passionate about the health and wellbeing of the breed.  Very rarely does a sphynx cat require rehoming, and in the unusual case that they do, the original breeder tends to assist in the process of finding the cat a new home - good breeders consider all their cats and kittens family and do everything they can to help and support them (and if for some reason this is not the case, we are always there to help!).

Unfortunately as sphynx cats have gained popularity there has been a rise in the number of unscrupulous 'breeders' who put profits over health, selling cats and kittens that are sick or have congenital problems. Whilst I feel this is still the minority, it has become common enough that the need for a way to assist sphynx cats and their owners grew to a point that I could no longer ignore, and I officially started this rescue group.

Our main base of operations is Melbourne, Victoria - but we have a network of fabulous foster carers around Australia, and no cat is too far away to receive our help. Everyone involved in Sphynx Rescue is a volunteer, and any funds raised go directly to the rescue and rehabilitation of cats.

Thank you for supporting our mission to help the hairless!
